The Congregational Council meets every 2nd Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. All members of St. Mark's are welcome to attend council meetings.

The Council will meet on Monday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Weant Hall.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW COUNCIL MEMBERS who were elected at the 2008 Congregational Annual Meeting Sunday, January 26th. Those elected to 3-year terms are Raul "Bubba" Calzadilla, Michael Davidson-Schmich, Jim Hirschman, Julia Rego. 2-year term for Adrianne Thompson.
1-year term for
David Kaiser. They join present Council members: Mack Roper, Charlene Grall, Petra Brock-Getz, David F. Sullivan, Donald Bickel. Following our annual meeting, our new Church Council elected our officers.

Ken Harrison was appointed on Monday, Feb. 12, to the vacancy left by the resignation of Jim Parker.

Robyn Gee-Moore was appointed on Monday, April 14, to the vacancy left by the resignation of David F. Sullivanr.

Our Church Committee chairs for 2008

Christian Education committee is responsible for the organization, promotion and supervision of the educational activities within the church, including Sunday school, Vacation Bible School. Oversee the nursery.

Communication committee establishes and maintains communication among the congregation. In emergency situations, be the lifeline by which members stay in contact with each other and staff. Calls and assists members who are in need of comfort and assistance. Chairperson: Church office through Josie

Evangelism committee seeks to stimulate and direct the congregation in a continuous program of personal witness & outreach activities. Involves the congregation to revitalize indifference and disseminate the gospel message to the un-churched. Chairperson:

Fellowship committee plans and coordinates the weekly fellowship hour after service. Coordinate, plan and execute special events of the congregation, related to both worship and service projects. Chairperson: Robyn Gee-Moore

Finance committee sees that the financial affairs of the congregation are conducted efficiently and appropriately. Assures that bills are paid promptly and reserved funds invested wisely.

German Ministries committee oversees the promotion of this new ministry to insure its vitality in the life of our congregation. Chairperson: Petra Brock-Getz

Global Ministry committee promotes the missionary work of the church outside the borders of this country. Informs the congregation of missionaries and encourages congregational support.

Parking Lot & School Committee: David Kaiser & Mack Roper

Property committee oversees the maintenance and protection of all church property. Makes recommendations for repairs and improvements when necessary.

Social Ministry committee is responsible for promoting the congregation's ministry to our community. Involves the congregation in community programs to foster social justice and combats poverty. Seek immediate assistance for the needy in our congregation.

Worship and Music committee oversees that all Sunday and non-Sunday worship services are scheduled and conducted in accordance with liturgies of the Lutheran Church. Organizes and coordinates the schedules for all auxiliary worship related entities; choir, cantors, readers, crucifer/acolytes, ushers and altar guild. Chairperson: Jim Hirschman

Stewardship committee promotes our sense of giving as we become aware of our needs and those of others.
Chairperson: Ken Harrison

Youth committee promotes activities among young people of the congregation, primarily of a fellowship nature.
